There are well marked cycle paths and some lovely deserted beaches to enjoy a walk along. You could take the West Highland Jacobite Steam Railway from Fort William to Mallaig and cross the viaduct made famous in the Harry Potter films or take a leisurely boat trip from Oban to the magnificent islands of Mull Staffa and Iona. The Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary is a few miles away providing a great day out. The area is a walkers paradise and Ben Nevis is also easily accessible. Dating back to 1840 this charming house comprises three holiday properties and is situated on the outskirts of the village of Duror of Appin. Access to this first-floor apartment is via the external wooden stairs which take you into the cosy and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with coombed beam ceilings. Delightfully furnished and with stunning views the lounge is ideal for relaxing in with TV / DVDHi-Fi and a double sofa bed. You will also find an attractive dining area and a stylish kitchen fully equipped with electric oven and hob washer/dryer fridge with small ice compartment coffee machine and microwave. Exploring further there is one comfy bedroom: a zip-and-link super-king (which can be made up as twin beds on request). You will also find a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC. Please note this property is linked via a connecting door with property 28672. Stepping outside you can relax on the stair landing which has a small decked area furnished with outdoor table and chairs and which offers stunning views across the garden. The garden and extensive grounds are shared with the other two properties on-site and offer beautiful relaxing scenery. Highlights of the area include the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary ferry trips to the historic islands of Mull Staffa and Iona and the West Highland Jacobite Steam Railway which crosses the viaduct made famous in the Harry Potter films on its way to Mallaig. Younger members of the family can let off steam in some of the great soft play centres in Oban. This unique beautiful house dating back to 1840 comprises three properties this being the largest. On entering the main house you will find yourself in the cosy and traditional lounge throughout the house you will find a collection of books and unusual decorative items several being of local relevance and interest Including examples of taxidermy. The lounge with TV and DVD this is a wonderfully homely and spacious room. You will also find a charming conservatory with lovely views which serves both as a stylish dining room and a comfy additional lounge making it perfect for afternoon tea. Heading into the galley kitchen you will find it fully equipped with electric oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is also a double bedroom on the ground floor which can be made up as a twin on request and which has an en-suite shower room. There is also a ground-floor WC. Heading upstairs you will find two further bedrooms each containing a double and single bed. There is also a bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Please note this property is linked via a connecting door in one of the triple rooms with property 28686. Stepping out from the conservatory onto the patio you can relax in the pretty garden which is furnished with table and chairs. The attractive town of Oban sits on gentle hills above a sheltered bay looking out to the islands of Mull and Kerrera. It s known as the Gateway to the Isles thanks to its ferry terminal from which many of Scotland s more remote islands can be accessed. But Oban also has a range of shops and pubs and fascinating architecture including its own Colosseum-replica McCaig s Tower. In the summer months the streets of Oban are often bustling with visitors and there is plenty to see including spectacular views from the hilltops above the town and one of Scotland s oldest whisky distilleries. Also try to time a visit for the popular Oban Games where you can watch traditional Highlands sports. On arrival at the cottage you will find the spacious living room offers views over the loch with two sofas where you can while away the hours with a book play a board game in front of the fire or simply watch the boats sail across the loch. There is a TV/DVD for watching films on. The kitchen and open plan dining area come complete with everything you may need to cook up a feast or light snack including an electric oven and hob dishwasher freezer and wine cooler. You ll find a washing machine and a dryer in the cupboard opposite the oven. There is also a radio and iPod dock available in this kitchen. The dining table makes for a great place to sit chatting for hours. The bedrooms both with double beds are upstairs with great views over Loch Creran. The larger of the two bedrooms is on the left at the top of the stairs and has a large wardrobe. Guests in the second bedroom can use the cupboards on the landing to hang clothes. There are two bathrooms; one bathroom is upstairs which has a rain shower with a handheld shower head. The downstairs bathroom is a walk-in shower with WC. This property has a private pebbled beach which stretches up to the fence take caution as the rocks can be slippery. Directly outside is a patio with garden furniture. There is are also 66 acres of private farmland to explore alongside the private beach. Please ensure that you close the gate to the property to avoid any uninvited wildlife and cattle when the farmer has them roaming.
